Wednesday Playgroup

Every Wednesday in school term time from 10 am to 11.30 am.

We aim to facilitate a playgroup that is friendly, casual, and low cost.  We offer open play and good opportunities for everyone to meet people over a “cuppa.”

The playgroup is for babies and toddlers up to 3-years old with their parents, carers, or grandparents.  A place for children to play and explore freely, to learn and develop, and for adults to chat, make friends, and swap stories and ideas.

Friday pp Shop

All day Friday (10 am - 3.30 pm; in Winter months 10 am - 2.30 pm), the parish opp shop is open, offering a wide range of pre-loved quality clothes, kitchenware and other goods.  Come for a browse.  Leave with a bargain!

Tuesday Bible Study

At 10 am on Tuesdays the parish holds a bible study at the church.  Sessions last for about an hour and may focus on a particular book of the bible or a theme like forgiveness or the Spirit.  Some members of this group come from other parishes or no parish at all.  Everyone is welcome.

Mothers' Union

On the first Thursday of each month, Mothers' Union holds a service in the church and meets for lunch and a short business meeting.

Hospital Visiting

St Peter's provides ministry to Ballarat's two hospitals, the Base Hospital and St John of God.   A regular Friday morning service is celebrated in the Chapel at St John of God at 11.30 am, and a group of visitors (from St Peter's and elsewhere) make weekly trips around the wards, supporting patients and their families.

Bell-ringing

St Peter's is the only church in Ballarat with a full peal of eight bells.  On most Wednesday nights a band of ringers practise their different methods or "tunes". Most ringers are not worshipping parishioners, although some are.  The tower is always pleased to see new faces.

Christian Meditation

A group of people gathers to meditate together on Saturday evening at 5 pm. The advantages of meditating are huge, it brings peace and perspective on life and deepens our journey with God and all people. You are most welcome to come along and join in this time together. Starting, learning, or been meditating for a while; come along, enjoy the benefits of meditating together with others.
